My only argument with this movie is what they did to you on the box cover. They were so cool and it's so cool to be working with those kinds of people. It was a hugely successful run for LA Theater and they were gonna make a movie out of it and they called me three years later and they were really doing it. When I first moved here it was the first thing I ever did out here was a play based on that movie. 'Homewrecker' comes out in March which is awesome and I love that movie. There are so many slackers out here and I'm used to working really hard.Ĭream rises, baby. In the industry, or any job, if you prove that you're willing to go the extra mile people want to work with you and I really appreciate that. And out here if you have a good work ethic, which I do, you can go a long way. The people crack me up and everybody's mellow. That was my "please God, I need a job, job."Ī man's gotta pay the bills! So you're enjoying the west coast? Yes, we ate birthday cake out of each other's underwear the day we met. I mean, I can say that it was beautiful and I met a lot of really cool people there. Maybe not as much as, like, Iowa or someplace but it just wasn't for me. maybe it was just me but I always thought it was kind of strange. Out here nobody gives a shit about anything but there. There's, like, super-rich people and super-poor people and there's not really a middle class and it was just freaky to me. I always thought of Denver being like 'Dynasty' and I thought all these rich people would be all over the place but it was more like 'About Schmidt' with, like, Kathy Bates. It was just the attitude, I guess, and I just didn't get it. It's very whitebread and I'm from inner city Atlanta. So I moved to Denver and bought a house and everything but I just don't feel like I ever really connected with Denver at all. I tend to pick really expensive things to do. Wow, you're well rounded if nothing else. I got an MBA at the University of Denver and moved to Hollywood right after colleg. You just show up, do your job, and then leave. People freak out about adult movies but it's kind of really not that different from anything else. It's just not that interesting, you know? There's not that much to talk about. It was awesome and I'm glad I did it because I probably wouldn't be able to do what I'm doing now if I hadn't done it but the whole topic is just kind of boring to me. Right? So MSNBC was looking for a boy who had crossed over as well and they said "you're pretty much it." Actually though, it's kind of like Kelly Clarkson having to talk about 'American Idol' all the time. Sasha recently did a movie for Steven Soderbergh and it was kind of a big deal since she's done porn. I was actually interviewed recently for MSNBC along with Sasha Grey as examples of two people who have made the jump from porn to mainstream. You gotta have fun and we had a great time.ĭylan in his pornstar days as Brad Benton.ĭoes this string of mainstream acting roles complete the transformation for you from porn prodigy Brad Benton to 'real' actor Dylan Vox? We both have the same kind of ridiculous sense of humor. We all love you and that girl from the 'Eating Out' movies. Yeah, it's campy but it's campy on purpose. 'Homewrecker' was a very different kind of movie. Or are you a vampire king in 'Homewrecker'? Well, it must be nice to be able to play a variety of roles. The last movie I knew about you being in was 'Homewrecker'.Ĭompletely different from 'Brides of Sodom'. Yeah, I don't know how that happened but I like it. You're like the go-to guy for vampire kings, aren't you? He's a cult favorite and kind of a big deal. He does a lot of B-type horror movies and it's been great. It's directed by Creep Creepersin and he's brilliant. No, a nap wouldn't be the same without you in bed with me. I need a nap.ĭo you want to take a nap and I can call you back later? I just finished filming a new movie and it was lots of long days and lots of prosthetics. I had a chance to catch up with Dylan recently to discuss his time living in Denver, his upcoming movies, and the time we ate birthday cake out of each other's underwear.ĭylan: I am tired. Dylan Vox has been an ice skater, a law school student, a stripper, an award-winning pornstar, and now, a successful (and very busy) mainstream TV and movie actor.
